Mount Ayr is the seat of Ringgold County, the farthest of the
Southern Tier counties from Des Moines.
It is served by State Highway 2 and US Highway 169,
approximately 73 miles southwest of Des Moines and 115 miles
north of Kansas City, MO.
Activities and events in the area include the Ringgold County
Fair and Autumn in the Ayr Days.
Mount Ayr and the surrounding area are very popular spots for
